Returns must be made within 30 days of purchase and meet the following conditions:

• Materials must be unaltered, in original condition, and suitable for resale
• Pre-stocked stains (non-custom colours) can be returned if unopened and unused

The following are final sale and not eligible for return:

• Custom-tinted stains
• Special order items
• Anything milled, cut, or finished by Cedar Shoppe or a third party

Returns or cancelled orders may be subject to a 15% restocking fee at management's discretion.

Refunds are issued to your original payment method (please allow 2–3 business days for EFT or e-transfer).

Any order discrepancies must be reported within 48 hours of your invoice date.

Timelines depend on a few factors — whether it's a regularly stocked item, if it's a custom order, if the material requires milling and the current job scheduling.

Absolutely! We deliver directly to job sites within our standard delivery radius, and can arrange transport for locations beyond that zone.

Never store lumber directly on the ground — always keep it on dunnage so air can circulate underneath, and cover it with a breathable cedar lumber wrap that lets moisture escape without letting more in. Avoid moving cedar in the rain.

Interior products like paneling should be stored indoors and allowed to acclimatize for at least a week — ideally in the room where they'll be installed — and never around fresh concrete or drywall.

Stainless steel screws and fasteners are best — they resist corrosion and won't cause streaking or discolouration on your cedar over time.

Western Red Cedar is sourced from British Columbia. Alaskan Yellow Cedar comes from BC and Alaska. Eastern White Shingles come from right here in Ontario. Sansin, our stain and sealer line, is Canadian-made.

Western Red Cedar (Thuja plicata) is known for its fine, even grain and excellent strength-to-weight ratio. Its natural oils give it strong decay resistance and a rich colour range, from light straw tones in the sapwood to deep vanilla-chocolate in the heartwood.

Wood is the only major building material that's renewable, and Western Red Cedar is a strong example of that: for every tree harvested, at least 3 are planted, and North American forests have actually grown by 20% since 1970 thanks to responsible replanting. In British Columbia — where most Western Red Cedar comes from — more than 85% of timberland is certified by independent, internationally recognized forest certification agencies, giving an added layer of assurance around how it's managed.

Cedar is also recyclable and biodegradable, unlike man-made materials such as brick, cement, or composite, which don't break down the same way once they reach the end of their life.

Beyond our fencing, decking, and siding lines, we stock lattice, trim, and mouldings in both knotty and clear grades.

If you need something outside our standard stock, we can also custom mill pieces to your specifications.

Shingles are sawn and have a smooth surface, while shakes are split and have at least one highly textured, natural grain surface.

Both are commonly used for roofing and sidewall applications, typically left in their natural, unfinished state.

Not all hardware is compatible with cedar — the wrong fasteners can cause corrosion and staining over time.
